After a lot of planning, the big day finally arrived: Alphagamer launched its first live stream on YouTube! This stream marks the start of what I hope will be a series of live streams featuring the best RPGs and survival/base-building games on Alphagamer’s Youtube channel.

My Current Streaming Setup

For streaming, I’m using a dual-laptop setup with my older Predator Helios 300 (GTX 1660Ti GPU) as the dedicated streaming laptop and my Lenovo Legion (RTX 4090) for gaming. I use an Elgato HD60 S+ capture card and OBS for streaming.

Though I’m pleased with the initial results, live streaming on Alphagamer is still in its early stages and will benefit from fine-tuning. Earlier this week, I encountered some lag issues, likely due to outdated GPU drivers on the streaming laptop and using Wi-Fi as the main connection. Switching to wired connections significantly boosted stream quality and resolution.

There’s still room for improvement. Eventually, I plan to add overlays in OBS and, down the line, use my laptop’s camera to include myself in the stream. For now, I’m happy to let the gameplay take the spotlight.

Diablo 4 Clan and Community Live Streams

Live streaming is also a way to connect with the Alphagamer community and the Diablo 4 clan. As the community grows, I’m planning to host streams specifically for clan events. And it won’t be limited to Diablo 4!

For instance, today, I reconnected with Breaker, a long-time Alphagamer member from the Diablo 2 days. After almost 20 years, it was amazing to reunite through gaming. I hope to reconnect with more former Alphagamer members and welcome new ones along the way!

Future Games to be Live Streamed

Diablo 4 is just the beginning. With Path of Exile 2 a month away from early access, it’s a top candidate for future streams. I’m also planning to dive into No Rest for the Wicked, an RPG I haven’t played in a while.

In addition to RPGs, I’ll be streaming some survival and strategy favorites like Factorio, Satisfactory, and Frostpunk 2. Stay tuned for more on these upcoming streams!
